NWFR serves the community with a combination of volunteers and paid (part-time) personnel. Our Duty Crew, part-time paid staff, provides a small, on-duty crew to provide rapid response, while our volunteer members provide adequate staffing to respond simultaneously or during larger emergencies.

MSAR Volunteer: NWFR has openings with the Marine Search and Rescue division.
Volunteer: NWFR has a variety of volunteer opportunities as an emergency responder.
Part-Time: Applicants for Part-Time Firefighter positions must be certified as a Firefighter I and Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. Our part-time members work a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per month for a maximum of 218 hours per 28 day pay period. Part time Firefighters are trained as Driver Operators and receive a wide range of training in other fire and rescue skills. Working as a Part-Time Firefighter provides valuable work experience towards a fire service career.
