Cameron was raised on a apple/pear orchard in the Hood River Valley, in Oregon, and grew up playing sports. During high school he was the lacrosse team captain and began volunteering at Parkdale Fire Department. He started his volunteering with the fire department in 2006 and by 2010 had obtained his EMT license.
As a firefighter/EMT, Cameron has served as an engine captain with the Oregon Department of Forestry for 7 seasons based out of The Dalles Unit. Also, he co-coordinated a regional volunteer fire academy. That fire academy served 10 different agencies and graduated around 80 recruits in the 3 years before he moved for a career job.
Cameron first stepped into career firefighting and EMT work with the Baker City(OR) Fire Department. While with Baker City he was able to obtain his Oregon EMT-Intermediate certification. His next step has been to join the North Whidbey Fire and Rescue fire department as our training officer. He looks forward to being on Whidbey Island and making this his home.
